Joinery is at the centre of what we do at Calshot. Our team works on vessels, buildings and commissions where traditional craft and modern design come together. Every project is different, but the approach stays consistent: to deliver clear, confident work that blends technical skill with care for the materials being used.
We work with reclaimed and repurposed timbers wherever possible. The focus is always on producing work that feels right in its setting and holds up over time.

The Workshop
The joinery workshop at Calshot combines large-scale capability with an individual maker’s attention to detail. It is a place where thinking and making happen at the bench. Projects range from bespoke yacht interiors to architectural furniture and large-scale panelled rooms. No detail is left to chance. We work closely with engineers and designers to ensure every element fits and functions as intended. The joinery shop reflects the wider values of the yard: practical thinking, clarity of design and proper making.

Project: Alicia
The interior refit of Alicia remains a defining example of Calshot joinery. The work included restoring reclaimed timber from old warehouses and buildings, shaping it by hand and fitting it back into the vessel. More than sixty craftsmen worked over three thousand hours to bring the wood back to life. The staircase, where the grain was followed through every joint and curve, is still one of the clearest expressions of the approach we take.

Adi Edgington, Joinery Manager
“Joinery at Calshot is not about showing off. The best work looks simple but has been shaped by experience and care. Our job is to understand what the materials want to do and guide them into place. We aim for a kind of quiet strength in everything we build.”
